Running a Photobooth Session
This is where the magic happens. Follow Karafuru's workflow to capture and process photos during your event.
Before you start
-
Have your license key ready — Karafuru uses 1 license per event. Each photo session requires its own license key from your dashboard.
- Go to karafuruphoto.com → Subscription → Generate License
- Copy and paste it into the app (Settings → Sistem tab → License field)
-
Arrive early — Connect your printer and camera/webcam. Let Karafuru detect them.
-
Test a photo — From the home page, click Test Capture to verify lighting and alignment
-
Check printer calibration — Print one test photo to confirm it's centered and properly sized
-
Internet is optional — You can run events offline. Photos upload automatically when you reconnect.
You don't need internet during the event. Karafuru saves all photos locally and syncs them to the cloud later.
Start a session
1. Click Start Session
From the home page, click the large MULAI (Start) button.
2. Choose a template
Karafuru shows you grid layout options:
- 1×3 layout — One long strip (vertical)
- 2×2 layout — Four photos in a square
- 3×1 layout — Three photos in a horizontal strip
Pick the layout you like. Guests see the same layout for every session.
3. Select your camera
Choose Webcam for instant live preview, or DSLR if you have DigiCamControl set up.
Webcam is faster for real-time preview. DSLR gives professional photo quality but takes slightly longer.
During the session
The capture flow
Once the session starts, guests see a simple screen:
- Live preview of the camera
- Voice countdown guides guests ("3... 2... 1... Say cheese!") in your language
- Karafuru captures 4 photos automatically
- Photos arrange into the grid you selected
- Payment screen appears
How payment works
Once photos are taken, Karafuru shows a QRIS payment code. Guests scan it with their phone to pay.
- Payment is optional — If guests don't pay, their photos still print
- Once paid — A receipt prints automatically
- No payment? — The photo grid prints anyway
QRIS is a unified payment system used in Indonesia. Guests scan it with any banking app or digital wallet. Payments go directly to your account.
Printing
After payment completes (or the payment screen times out):
- The photo grid automatically prints
- Guests take their photo and leave
- The app resets for the next guest
Paper sizes:
- 2R (2" × 6") — Tall, single-strip format
- 4R (4" × 6") — Standard postcard size
- A4 / Letter — Full page
You choose the paper size when you configure your printer.
Do not remove paper or turn off the printer during a session. Wait until printing finishes.
After the session
Photos are safe
All photos are saved locally on your PC:
- While offline: Stored in your local Karafuru folder
- When online: Automatically uploaded to your cloud account (you don't have to do anything)
- Upload queue: Shows progress in the app
View or manage photos
From the home page:
- Click Manage Photos or View Sessions
- Browse all photos from this session
- Pause/resume the upload queue if needed
No internet during the event?
No problem. Photos stay on your PC until you reconnect. Once you do:
- Karafuru detects the connection
- Automatically uploads all queued photos
- Syncs with your cloud account
You'll see the upload progress in the app.
Karafuru never deletes photos from your PC. They're always backed up locally, even after uploading to the cloud.
