Printer Setup & Configuration
Karafuru prints photo grids directly after each session. Setting up your printer takes just a few minutes.
Supported Printers
Karafuru works with any USB-connected printer that your Windows PC recognizes:
- Dye-sublimation printers (DNP, Mitsubishi, HiTi)
- Inkjet printers (Canon, Epson, HP)
- Thermal printers
- Any printer Windows can detect
USB is required. Network or Bluetooth printers are not currently supported.
Steps to Connect
1. Plug in your printer
Connect your printer to your PC via USB cable. Power it on.
2. Install the driver
Windows usually auto-installs the printer driver. If it doesn't:
- Go to your printer manufacturer's website
- Download the Windows 10/11 64-bit driver
- Install it
- Restart your PC
3. Test the printer in Windows
- Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners
- Your printer should appear in the list
- Click your printer and select Print test page
If the test page prints successfully, your driver is installed correctly.
4. Open Karafuru
When you launch Karafuru, it scans for connected printers. Your printer should appear automatically.
Go to Settings → Printer Configuration to confirm.
Configure Paper Size
Before running an event, choose your paper size and calibrate.
Steps
- From the dashboard, click Settings → Printer Configuration
- Select your paper size:
- 2R (2" × 6") — Tall, narrow format for 4 photos in a vertical strip
- 4R (4" × 6") — Standard postcard size
- A4 / Letter — Full page (fits multiple grids)
- Click Test Print to print a sample
- Check that photos are centered and properly positioned on the paper
- If calibration is needed, adjust the offsets using the on-screen controls
- Print another test page and confirm alignment
Spend 5 minutes calibrating before your first event. Proper calibration prevents wasted paper and ensures professional-looking prints.
During Events
Once configured, printing is fully automatic:
- Guest takes 4 photos
- Photos arrange in your selected grid layout
- Payment screen appears (optional QRIS)
- Grid automatically prints without you touching anything
Your printer runs continuously during busy sessions. Make sure you have enough paper and ink.
