Moving to a New Device

If you buy a new PC or want to use Karafuru on a different machine, simply create a new license from your dashboard. Each license is permanently bound to one machine, so you'll generate fresh licenses for new devices.

How it works​

Important: Each Karafuru license is permanently bound to a specific machine ID. Once activated on a device, it cannot be moved to another machine.

Your subscription tier limits how many licenses you can have active at the same time across different devices:

  • Pay Per Event — 1 active license (1 device running)
  • Pro — 2 active licenses (2 devices running simultaneously)
  • Studio — 5 active licenses (5 devices running simultaneously)

Steps to activate on a new machine​

1. Create a new license for the new device​

  1. Log in at karafuruphoto.com
  2. From the sidebar, click Subscription
  3. Click Generate License
  4. Name it (e.g., "Booth A - Jakarta" or "New PC - Event #3")
  5. Copy the license key

2. Install on your new machine​

  1. On the new Windows PC, download Karafuru from karafuruphoto.com
  2. Follow the Download and Install steps

3. Activate on the new machine​

  1. Launch Karafuru on your new PC
  2. Click the gear icon → Sistem (System) tab
  3. Paste your new license key
  4. Click VERIFIKASI (Verify)

Your new license is now bound to this device and active.

4. What about your old device?​

The license on your old PC remains there:

  • If you won't use the old PC anymore: Leave it as is. The license becomes inactive but stays in your account records.
  • If you still use the old PC: It keeps its license active (if your subscription tier allows multiple active licenses).
tip

You can create as many licenses as you need during a subscription month. Your subscription tier only limits how many can be active simultaneously. For example, with a Pro plan (2 active licenses), you can create 10 licenses throughout the month and activate 2 at a time.

Multiple devices at once​

If you have multiple photobooth setups:

  1. Create one license per device from your dashboard
  2. Activate each license on its respective PC
  3. As long as you stay within your subscription tier's limit (Pro=2, Studio=5), they can all run simultaneously
